UPDATE: Accident Victim Allegedly Responsible for Assault
RNC say a 39-year old man from Mount Pearl who was killed in a traffic accident Wednesday at the intersection of Columbus Drive and Canada Drive was allegedly responsible for an assault in Portugal Cove this week. Police have shut down a portion of that road to do a scene examination.

Fish Protest Halted at Promise of Meetings
The protest at the provincial fisheries building on Strawberry Marsh Road is over. The group began occupying the Petten Building Monday but say they will leave the building on the basis of a promised meeting tomorrow morning with Fisheries Minister Tom Hedderson.
